Skin cancer - Why me?

If you are reading this, skin  cancer means something to you.  You are not alone.  It is estimated 1 in 5 Americans will have skin cancer at some point in their lifetime.  In fact, over 2 million cases of skin cancer are diagnosed each year. Most people have anxiety and stress about the diagnosis of cancer.  This is ok.  You are in great hands here.

You see, skin cancer may be new to you, but we treat it every day. We have the experience and know how to beat skin cancer. We will also care  for you as though you are part of our own family. If skin cancers are caught early like most are,  they are easily removed in our office. It is important to treat them so they do not grow,  especially under the surface. This is particularly true for basal cell carcinoma and squamous cell carcinoma, the top two skin cancers diagnosed today.

A variety of treatment options are available  depending on location, size, and type of cancer. We will work with you to find the best treatment for your individual needs.

Give me the Best

You deserve excellence in care and results. You should have the highest cure rate, the smallest scar and the best outcome, all with minimal  discomfort. This is why Dr. Moore offers the most advanced skin cancer treatments for his clients. One excellent treatment is a highly specialized cancer removal technique called Mohs Micrographic Surgery.

Mohs is a specialized technique where the cancer is removed in our office and the tissue is processed while you wait. Then Dr. Moore can interpret (read) the pathology to see if all the cancer is removed. If the cancer has roots like  a tree extending beyond what can be seen, then another stage of removal can be performed right  then. This process is repeated until all of the cancer is removed. Only when we determine  the cancer is all out do we put sutures in.

You then go home with the assurance the  cancer is out. The Mohs technique offers up to a 99% cure rate. In addition, the entire  procedure is performed in the comfort of our office. The process is completed in just a few  hours usually. Most people even drive themselves to and from the office on the  procedure day.

What's so Great About Mohs?
